Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Machine Tool Division Policy on Covid-19
Exemption to State of Michigan “Stay at Home” Order
March 24, 2020

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Machine Tool Division (MHIA-MTD) located in Wixom Michigan is following the directives of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the State of Michigan and are declaring our business a critical infrastructure industry.

Many of our customers are critical infrastructure companies and require our continued support for spare parts and technical support to keep their machine tools operational. These customers are in the following fields:
•    Defense Industrial Base (50%)
•    Transportation (30%)
•    Food and Agriculture (15%)
•    Critical Manufacturing (5%)

We have taken the drastic steps to have all non-critical infrastructure employees, work remotely from their homes and have designated a small group of critical infrastructure employees to maintain our support operations to our critical infrastructure customers throughout North America. Critical infrastructure employees include, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, purchasing, logistics, compliance, accounting, service coordination and management. We have scheduled two shifts, where less than 25% of our total workforce will be in the building.

This policy will remain in effect until government mandated policies are changed.
